King Charles Visits Roger Gracie Academy to Support REORG

On 24 June 2026, King Charles visited Roger Gracie Academy in Hammersmith to learn about REORG and the role Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu plays in supporting mental health and wellbeing.

During the visit, he heard from members of the armed forces, emergency services and veterans about how REORG's programmes have affected their lives. At the end, Roger Gracie and Mauricio presented His Majesty with his first white belt.

About REORG

REORG is a UK registered charity founded in 2017 by Sam Sheriff MBE. Sheriff served 22 years as a Royal Marines Commando and is the first serving Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in the Royal Marines. He was awarded his MBE for the charity's work.

REORG uses Jiu-Jitsu to support the recovery and mental health of serving military personnel, veterans and emergency services workers, including those dealing with injury, PTSD and depression. It operates through a network of partner academies across the UK. The actor Tom Hardy is a trustee.
